Courtney Blondino is an assistant professor of health studies at the University of Richmond. She earned a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her dissertation research, Modeling Substance Use and Mental Disorder Comorbidity Using Latent Variable and Network Approaches, used complementary statistical methods to characterize co-occurring mental health and substance use in U.S. adults.
Blondino’s research includes community-based participatory research projects in the City of Richmond, injury and violence epidemiology, and mental health and substance use comorbidity. She has also worked as an epidemiology consultant for the American Medical Association, Venebio Group, and Mercer. Courtney volunteers on the Emerging Leaders Council for Richmond’s Health Brigade, Virginia’s oldest free and charitable clinic offering medical, mental health, community outreach and care coordination services for low-income and uninsured persons.
